Feeling Inspired

Saturday 27 January 2018

Finally, I have time to play with makeup again! I have really missed creating makeup looks and just taking time to myself to mess around. Not going to lie, it was so hard taking these photos. The lighting was being the most temperamental and trying to work with small windows, is hard. The infamous cut crease has always been something that I have wanted to be able to do well - beauty guru's make them seem so easy?! This being my first attempt I was chuffed with the final look.

I took inspiration from Chris Brown's Heartbreak on a Full Moon album cover. He has always been a favourite of mine and I love the album cover haha. The pink and purple tones looked so complimentary, and the shades in the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette were perfect to recreate it.
First off, I blended the purple colour 'Amethyst' from the Huda Beauty palette into my crease, and then applied 'Burgundy' from the Kylie Jenner Burgundy palette just below 'Amethyst' until I was happy with how the blend was coming together. Next, I took the Real Techniques Detailer brush and the Bourjous Radiance Reveal concealer in the shade 01 to cut the crease. I set the concealer down with powder afterwards to ensure it wouldn't crease. The lid colour (how beautiful is it?!) is 'Twilight' from the same Huda Beauty palette. I then took a red shade from the Morphe 305M palette on a small winged liner brush and ran it along the cut crease line to intensify the colour gradient. My eyeliner is the Maybelline Master Precise Matte liner (my absolute fav), and my lashes of choice were (shock) #213 by Red Cherry.

What is your go to makeup look?

(Disclaimer: I am by no means a makeup artist haha! I just enjoy putting makeup on my face)

I've heard good things about that Huda Beauty palette. It looks amazing, but I'm not sure if I would wear it all that much myself...
