The Everyday Face

Friday 24 February 2017

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is forever switching up makeup products used on a daily basis, but for me, I have products that I will always reach for. I noticed that the majority of them are from the drugstore, and so I thought to share them with you guys.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation - £7.99
I have been using this stuff ever since upper school... and I cannot tell you how many times I have repurchased this foundation over the years. The shade 100 Ivory is the exact shade for my skin tone, it stays put all day (even when working in a hot kitchen), it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, and at only £8 I think it would be silly to try and find a high end alternative that does the same job.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £3.99
I discovered this powder around the same time as the foundation. These two are the best paring - I'm all for a matte base, and this powder is just amazing at doing that. It's so light, and soft. I don't see this powder ever leaving my everyday makeup routine.
Bourjous Delice du Poudre Bronzing Powder - £7.99
If you have never heard of or seen this bronzer before, I advise you to go and smell it (as strange as that sounds). It smells like chocolate!! Not only is the smell beautiful, the bronzer itself is beautiful. It's not orange, too glittery or chalky like a lot of drugstore bronzers can be... It's just perfect to warm up the skin and give your face a kiss of sun.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - £5.99
Being the newest product to make the cut for my everyday face, I brought this concealer having read other peoples thoughts on it. It blends out well with a beauty sponge, and doesn't crease throughout the day once set. It isn't as full coverage as I'd like, but for £6, you cannot go wrong.
Maybelline Master Ink Matte - £4.99
If you're not a fan of liquid eyeliner that looks glossy once dried down, this is one for you! I must admit I haven't been wearing eyeliner as much as I used too,but this one is my favourite. The applicator is perfect for lining your eyelids and makes doing eyeliner flicks so easy! It's super black in colour and dries quickly to matte. My only criticism is that it doesn't have much staying power - a waterproof version would be fab (my eyes water far too much for my liking).
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams - £5.50
The formula of these lip creams is so creamy - it's almost like a mousse. They're not drying in the slightest, and stay comfortably on the lips. With such a variety of colours to choose from, there is bound to be one for everyone.

What're your favourite products from the drugstore?

  1. I feel like this is a total throwback for me, this is all the products I used to use a few years ago! I loved the foundation and the powder, and the bourjois bronzer! You have me wanting to hunt them out again!

  5. hmmmmmm I think mine would have to be.... any drugstore mascara really. I really don't see the point in spending lots of money on a mascara when it only lasts for a couple of months. I also love Rimmel lip pencils, they are fantastic!

    1. I think you're right! If it does the same job, why pay more? I am yet to try many mascaras! I usually stick to what I know. I shall have to try some more!
