When I first got into makeup, I never used to highlight my face, in any way shape or form. Both highlighting and contouring, have probably been around for the longest time, but are techniques that I have incorporated into my routine within the last couple of years. Some people like their highlight to be more on the subtle side, and others like their highlight to be so bright that they can be seen in the dark - what ever makes you happy. Personally, I couldn't imagine doing my makeup and not highlighting the hell out of my cheekbones. Here are my favourite powder products to use for highlighting...
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
Being more on the gold side, I didn't think this highlighter would suit me. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. It looks amazing on every high point of the face, in the inner corners of the eyes, on my shoulders and also on my décolletage. Champagne pop has such a creamy texture, it glides onto the skin and a little bit goes a seriously long way. I tend to choose this one for a night out when I want my highlighter to be more intense, and it looks incredible when the light hits it - especially on eyelids.
Mac Soft & Gentle
Soft & gentle is described on the Mac website as being a shade of 'gilded peach bronze', but definitely gives my skin a more rose-y tint. This highlighter contains little specks of glitter that I know wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it for that reason. Once set in place with a setting spray, this highlight gives my cheekbones a gorgeous sheen.
Mac Mineralise Skin Finish By Candlelight and Petticoat
Admittedly, I don't use these highlights as often as the other two that I have mentioned. BUT, these both look amazing as eyeshadows. Whether it be with a cut crease look, or with a bit of bronzer through the crease, these deep pink toned highlighters look beautiful. I'm even a fan of putting them in my inner corners. I love how versatile highlighters can be - you can get use out of colours that you wouldn't have thought you would.
Laura Mercier Indiscretion
If I'm not using soft & gentle, I will be using this one. Being a lot more on the subtle side I love to use this highlight also on a daily basis, when I want more of a natural, dewy look rather than a sparkle. However, it does break my heart to use it and ruin the cute little silk like pattern created in the product... Maybe I need to get over myself.
What's your favourite highlighter?

The Laura Mercier one I have is gorgeous! Very comparable to Soft and Gentle, but minus the glitter, it gives more of a sheen to the skin!
